Day 1: Here we go again & Day 2: Shop till you drop

Day 1: Here we go again

Montag Abend ging unser Flug. Unsere Laune hatte also schon den ersten Tiefpunkt erreicht. So schnell.

We left Berlin on monday evening, thus, we had the whole day to pack. In the evening we were so excited and just wanted to get started, that's why we arrived at the airport quite early (usually this never happens to us). We were looking forward to flying, but, somehow, we were exhausted and annoyed after the first stop already (Abu Dhabi). Being on the next plane, however, let us realize that our travels are so close, and the anticipation was rising again.

Around 6pm local time we arrived in Bangkok. We got the visa, our luggage und took off our warm jumpers. We took the train into the city. After that, we had to take a taxi, which was quite difficult and annoying, as many taxidrivers refused to use the taxameter and offered us a fixed price instead. We knew that this works with many tourists, but we just kept looking. Having arrived at the hostel, we left all our things in our tiny six-bed dorm and went for a walk on Khao San Road to treat ourselves to a delicious Pad Thai. We were exhausted but happy to be back!

Day 2: Shop till you drop

Tuesday was shopping day. During our first stay in Bangkok - about 2,5 years ago – we couldn't buy much stuff. Back then, we promised to come back one time to shop all the things we wanted, and, finally, the time had come. We hadn't slept very well, because the room was so small and the mattresses really uncomfortable. But our motivation helped us to get out of bed. We had a sandwich for breakfast but despised the salad thanks to small aphids.

Our first destination was Platinum Shopping Mall. It was big and filled with little stalls that offered many nice and affordable clothes. We worked our way through the narrow hallways and shopped a few nice things. After three hours, we left the mall and walked to Siam Square. Our shopping was less successfull there, so we took a taxi back to Khao San Road. Our taxidriver was pretty funny and tried to teach us some Thai. Unfortunalety, we can't remember anything. Our amazing day ended in a cute little vegetarian-vegan restaurant. The food was so good and the prices quite reasonable. We can totally recommend that place. If you'll ever go to Bangkok, don't miss out on Ethos!
